So it’s Friday night and I did something bad, very bad; something that goes against “The search for my Six-Pack Abs” ….yes that’s right, I had alot of Beer last night and I ate alot of Pizza for dinner tonight to top it off. The family wanted to go out for Pizza, and I said “Great idea!”, “It’s Friday night!” “Lets celebrate the weekend, forget about our job and troubles, by doing and eating whatever we want!

So a quick 2 hours later, stomach full and thinking to myself like we always do when we eat too much, “Why did I just do that?” “Ughh I feel gross..” “I’m never gonna eat again!”
After feeling all grossed out we decided to go to Borders. I broke away from the family for a while and started browsing the shelves when I came across the “Diet/Workout section” (..by the way a very big section.)…and then it hit me. I stood there looking at book after book after book of workouts, and “What to and what not to eat.”, training programs and cookbooks….WOW! There is more information out there then ever before about “Losing Weight”, “Getting Ripped”, “Everything to get that body ready for the beach”…Anything you ever want to know is at your local bookstore, or on the internet, or on some late night infomercial.

So I bought another book, probably my third or fourth book on recipes and diets. This one is by Mens Health called “Muscle Chow”

The book contains alot of great recipes on what to eat to burn fat and gain muscle. I will start making these meals and give you all feedback on how they taste and If I notice a difference..

So I guess what I am saying is if you need help or guidence, go online or to your local bookstore, you will find books on anything you need to get your body to where it needs to be.
Also don’t get down on yourself if you slip once in while. it’s ok. As long as you get back on track and realize it was just one meal. I think Tony Robbins said something like “The reward for knowing you didn’t eat something bad for you outweighs the 1 minute of pleasure you get from eating it” – or something like that. =0)

Tomorrow I’ll have a new post on some cool fast and easy smoothies that I make that should be the snack of choice instead of eating ice cream or candy. See ya tomorrow!

A couple of friends have asked me “How do you find time to workout, do Karate and run?”

Simple! I make them a priority.

I posted a saying on my Facebook page yesterday which said “First you make habits, and then your habits make you.”

I believe everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY has time to exercise. I know some of us have kids, jobs, house chores, etc. etc.

Here is my work out schedule on my busiest day… Monday.

Mondays

5:30 to 6:30 – After work go straight to the gym.
6:30 – Go home eat a little something, and then spend time with family.
7:00 – My oldest son and I head out to Karate.
8:15 – Come home, spend time with family.
9:00 – Browse internet, catch up on shows, design cool stuff =0), etc.
10:30 Bed.

I also hit the gym on Tuesdays or Wednesdays after work…home by 6:30 – 6:45.
Have the rest of the night to spend with family, watch t.v. ..etc

Then I have Karate on Saturdays at 11:45, home by 1:00, and run on Sundays 8:00 a.m.
home by 10:00ish and try to get another run during the week, usually Thursdays.

That leaves me plenty of time to get the things done I need and want to, and I am working out almost every single day.

So my friends stop making excuses, and start exercising.
There is a big difference between don’t have time and don’t want to make time.

So start freeing up some of that time, and get moving! =)

A friend and follower of my blog (Kristina Rosenberg) made me aware that I haven’t been updating my blog as of late! Well I am here to tell you all that I am back on track and ready to continue on my journey.

This week I am down 4 more lbs and I will be starting a new program from a book called “The complete book of Abs.” You can pick it up at your local book store and I believe on Amazon.com

Another thing I have been doing is tracking my calories on calorieking.com.
My goal is 2000 calories a day according to the site. One thing I noticed is that alcohol is killer on calories. So if you want to shed some extra lbs you have to cut the drinks out (or back.)

So thanks to Kristina for kicking me in the butt and getting me back on track on posting my findings and my journey to finding my six-pack abs again!

Calorie King

Calorieking.com

What a great website this is!!!!
You can type in almost any type of food, store bought or from your favorite fast food chain, and it will give you the calorie count.
It is kind of shocking to see some of the calories in some of the foods we eat day in and day out.

Check it out!
